Sing to God, sing praise to his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds,
his name is the Lord -
and rejoice before him.
-Psalm 68:4

Etsy Love

Came across these amazing prints on a random Etsy excursion today. Leigh, over at jkldesign, features both handmade prints as well as vintage photos. I went through her entire shop and kept picking new favorites. Obviously I have a hard time narrowing, so maybe I want them all...

A little bit Wicked

Here are some pics from a family-filled Father's day weekend. I always have a great time when they're in town and this time we managed to refine ourselves and catch the Dallas performance of Wicked. My whole family saw this on a trip to NYC a few years ago and have just loved it since. My sister may or may not know every word to "Popular" and sing it on command at random times, but hey - no judgment here. We all have our songs. ("sweet sixteen todaaaaay...")

Sister and I before Wicked

Me proudly holding my Playbill after getting a little feisty with an usher. (sorry, not sorry)

Here we go, back to being sweet...Big Daddy and I on Father's day - one of the best!

2 Thumbs Up

Taylor: by the way... AMC today has been grease followed by dirty dancing. I feel like you and tiffany would enjoy that

(you might call me predictable...)

Great Days

I want to go to there.

Can you imagine laying here all day? While this isn't a hammock, it ranks up there with my dream of having a hammock, good book, locust-loving Summer day. If you were feeling really saucy, you could make the perfect playlist to accompany said day.

Meet Megan

Megan is my friend and roommate. She is the kind of person you just want (read: have) to have around. There is always a person that keeps things light, gives selflessly, and really just lives life around them - that person is Megan. While I have been lucky to call her friend throughout my teens and early 20s, I am now even luckier to share a living space. You can always count on Meg to throw a dinner party at the drop of a hat and/or open a carton of Blue Bell and share it with you on the couch.

(What? We live casually and that's how we like it.)

Sure, doors get left unlocked on occasion and our place isn't the tidiest of sorts on any given day, but it's full of love. One day I'll forget about the mornings that I've let myself be late to work and remember that it was then that we had our best chats. Megan gives perspective to the small things in life and encourages when she needs to on the important things. While I'm not sure that she has a life motto, she definitely radiates joy. She finds it, creates it, and passes it on.

I know I'm thankful that she does...

Goin' Country

I'm headed East this weekend - East Texas, that is! The Bible study girls and I will be heading to the country (c/o of sweet Kate) in an attempt to get some together time before the Summer craziness really takes over (hasn't it already?). It's not every weekend you get the pleasure of hanging out with a fun group of easy-going gals just looking for a good time. So in an attempt to channel my inner-Texas, I have blasted the country tunes all day in anticipation of what I predict to be a really memorable weekend.

I can't wait to eat what I assume to be large amounts of baked goods and really catch up on the lives of some of my dearest. There is a lot going on for everyone, so it's nice to just take some time and laugh a little. Seeing as how it is 4PM and I have yet to pack* for this little venture, I better get moving...

hope you have a wonderful weekend!

*In an earlier conversation with Miss Bailey I was informed that she managed to pack her essentials - cowgirl boots and denim shorts. Looks like someone took the country theme a little too literally. Love that girl...

"I want to ride my bicycle"

I've been wanting a soft yellow beach cruiser for awhile now. 'Why,' you ask? Well, because I live in one of of the easiest public transport cities in America!

Ok - no I don't.

BUT, I happen to think they're super cute. And while I don't live in a "bike friendly" city, I do live within biking distance of a wonderful Whole Foods, Anthropologie, and frozen yogurt shop that would be just perfect for biking excursions.

Republic lets you design your very own bike with custom seats and handles. I just love them!

Here are a few of my creations*:
*Please note - baby pink tires! (I actually think they're white/cream in person)

Memorial Day Scenes

Texas forever.
Pa on the lake. Lovin' life.
Kabob army.
This dog will pose with anything - it's unreal.

Texas tip: If you ever get the chance to hit up Mt. Bonnell on Lake Austin and catch the tail end of a Texas sunset, do it. Even if you're moderate-to-highly afraid of heights - it's so worth it.
