Must See: Bill Cunningham New York

I'm here to tell you about an absolute must-see in theaters right now - Bill Cunningham New York. It is one of the sweetest and most entertaining documentaries I have ever seen! Alyssa and I took to the streets yesterday in an attempt to break away from the dreary weather and found ourselves dying over this man's outlook on work and life. Not only has he made a name for himself as a coveted fashion photographer in New York City for literal decades (which is a feat in and of itself) but he managed to do so while living an unpretentious, quiet, almost solitary life. His take on the world and how he sees it is absolutely fascinating. Not only that, but he has an appreciation for art that is nothing short of contagious. Even more astounding is how a skinny, quirky guy in a blue smock can make himself relevant years and years in an industry that prides itself on being the most exclusive of them all.

If you are fortunate enough to find it in a theater near you then I say make a date for yourself. You won't regret it.

"Bill has chronicled the intersection of fashion, society and culture in New York for over fifty years like an anthropologist... Bill's rigorous work ethic, his joy and passion for his subject matter, and the simplicity with which he lives his life; all of that is an inspiration." - via
